Sri Ramaswamy Rajagopalan - a True Karma Yogi

Sri. Ramaswamy Rajagopalan or ‘RR’ as he was popularly known to his students and colleagues taught for about four decades in the Seshadripuram High School, Bangalore. RR was loved by his students and colleagues primarily for his simple and soft nature in dealing with others. Apart from teaching in the evening college, his house was like an open house where he taught Sanskrit to interested students. He strongly believed that knowledge is the only treasure which can multiply by sharing with others. Hence he was committed to imparting his knowledge to his students.Age was no restriction for him for learning. He always believed that whatever he had learnt so far were mere pebbles in the ocean of knowledge and therefore continued to learn and share his knowledge throughout his life. Although he came to Bangalore from Chidambaram University, he taught himself to speak and write Kannada through sheer determination. He finally wrote a book in Kannada - “Kalidasa” in addition to various other text books on Sanskrit, English, Geography for Higher Secondary Schools. He believed in the dictum “Simple living, high thinking” and practiced his belief with a very simple life with very neat habits. Sri.Rajagopalan passed away on 10th November 1994 at the age of 83.

He is Commerce Graduate from M.E.S. College, Bangalore, Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accounts of India, New Delhi and also a Law Graduate from Bangalore University. He is practicing as a Chartered Accountant at Bangalore in Direct tax matters, Audit and Assurances and also Management Consultant for more than 4 decades.

He has passion for social work and he has been bestowed as “Distinguished Social Worker Award for the year 2001” by Government of Karnataka, Ministry of Women and Child Welfare in co-ordination with Karnataka State council for Child    Welfare.

Mrs.UshaRamakrishnan, M.A. Economics, (Gold Medalist)

She is a Post Graduate. She also runs MFI Consulting, a financial and consulting firm in Bangalore for the past 25 years.

 Mr.Ganesh Ramakrishnan, B.Eng. (Hons)

Ganesh graduated with a B.Eng. (Honours) degree in Computer Engineering and Minors in Management and Entrepreneurship from the National University of Singapore and the University of Pennsylvania in 2010. He is currently an Associate on the Fundamental Equity team at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in Singapore and has been with the firm since joining Goldman Sachs’ Hong Kong office in 2010.

Ganesh fostered a zeal for social work during his childhood, when he accompanied his father on various social service projects in India. His affable nature and quiet dynamism permeate the Trust’s efforts to serve the downtrodden. Ganesh’s social work contributions continue in Singapore with organisations including Aidha, the Life Community Services Society, and other Student Care Service Centres.
